New York City In The 23rd Century

New York City in the 23rd century following catastrophic climate change. Industrial and commercial processes of the 21st century continued late into the century—the slow reaction of our civilization to the changing climate ended with dire consequences. Any serious action to limit climate change was far too late. The damage had already been done; the climate had already started to change after nearly three centuries of industrialization. Glaciers around the planet melted before the end of the 22nd century, contributing to roughly 70 meters of sea level rise, displacing over 3 billion people while devastating our coastal cities. A small group of people navigate the ruins of Old New York City in search of the new city building built in its wake.
